I’ve never served our country. I wish that I had, but it never happened.

However, I am currently in a cold war with my wife. It has lasted 12 years, beginning about 2 weeks after we were married. It is not a shooting war or even a “declared” one. But it is a form of combat, of that I am sure.

I’ve had to hone my skills at psyops and domestic relations. I think I am winning, but I’ve notice that when she puts the embargo on the goods and services, I’ve had to concede to her demands.

She does better getting allies in the form of our offspring, mainly because they are just like her in technique and tactics. They just don’t see things my way that often.

And my mother-in-law, NATO code name “Dragon”, doesn’t represent neutral U.N.-type ambassadorial help, either. I’ve taken note that she frequently stops by and subtly engages in bio-warfare when she uses our toilet. I never knew humans could shit mace, but you walk into one of those clouds and the effect is clear.

Combat takes on many forms, but the spirit of the warrior is the same.

Semper fi, my friends.

wow, thank you guys for your service.

I just did a 6x2 Army National Guard deal.
Was not deployed and never left the country.
63W aka Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic (Grease Monkey)

Out now, they broke my unit up and will not go back. Still practicing my shooting and combat skills on a regular basis. I have many friends who have deployed and some I won't see again.

I loved every minute of it.
